PHOTO CLUB 4 - I'M PHOTO CRAZY

Ask and you shall receive! As soon as I said I wanted to focus on getting more people shots, I went out the next day with the guys and got some people shots, including one of HARMONICA GUY (see above). Who is Harmonica guy? Well, Harmonica Guy is my "rummy hero" and the only street guys who gets my money, why? Well, he's always playing a tune, he always says hello or nods a greeting and he never asks for change. Add to that, he's a real nice guy and he makes for a nice photo!

We also went swimming with Ali, Brooke and Buckley (see below)... scratch that, Michelle went swimming with them, I took photos, not as athletic but still enjoyable!!!. Take a look at this SET

PHOTO CLUB 3

Another lunch hour spent walking around town taking random shots and after work, I drove up to the first lookout on Cypress and took some shots of the city. Nothing major but I think I have enough City Shots... I am going to focus more on people and portraits for the next Photo Club. For now, enjoy this SET

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAMBLE!

It’s a rare day on our fair planet. A day that only occurs once every year, a day when our three moons align (yes, there are three, it’s a conspiracy), a day when all war stops for 24 brief hours, a day when everyone on the planet drinks hearty and get’s along.

Yes, it’s Kevin Gamble’s Birthday.

Whether he’s slinging drinks at the Tiki Bar, making toons at work or blowing me away on the 360, the Gambler has never failed at making me laugh.

Like the time he guzzled a glass of Vodka thinking it was water and threw up out of his bedroom window?

Like the time he dumped his bike just hours after paying for it?

Like the time he was a Halloween fiend?

Like the time he made us pull over on Kingway and introduced all his buddies to “The Rancor”?

Like the time we were playing car-tag and he slammed into the back of my car ruining his front end and doing no damage to mine?

Like the time he ate almost 60 meaty hot wings in one sitting?

Like the time and time again that he has always been there for me as a trusted and fantastic friend?

Yes, the Gambler can make me laugh. His sharp wit and biting monologue on society or anything else that tickles his fancy keeps me entertained all hours of the day. He’s a good friend and worthy of a good birthday nod.

So pour yourself some of your favorite elixir, raise your glass and toast the Gambler. Of all the funniest people on the planet, I’m glad to be laughing with him.

Happy Birthday pal!!!

One of those weekends...

I tell ya, it's been one of those weekends. One of those weekends where trouble comes in one... two... three.

First off, on Friday night, our Fridge starting leaking... leaking bad. Yes our brand new 4 month old Fridge is spilling water. Now, I don't know if it's the water line or the fridge itself but there's water on the floor and possible damage to the hardwood. Awesome!!!

Then on saturday my Mini died.. died hard. Turn the key and there's nothing, no click, no ping, no lights, no power, no nothing. I called Mini Service, they sent a towtruck, tried to give me a jump and... nothing. The car was dead. They towed it to the garage and I was carless, in New West on a Saturday night (sounds like a movie premise).

Then Monday morning, a $400 payment came out of my account for a loan I had paid off and closed the previous week. That money was supposed to go to my monthly car payment and instead it went to a loan payment that shouldn't exist anymore.

Awesome!

On the plus side, Michelle and I confirmed our trip to Disneyland this summer. First time ever for me, we are excited!!!

As a great comedy troupe once sang: "Always look on the bright side of life"! The fridge and the car will be fixed and the bank will fix the payment error, right?

Always look on the bright side of life.

LAURA GOES BIG TIME!!!

As most of you know, Michelle's cousin Laura is a fantastic potter who has created some amazing plates. In fact our entire dish set is comprised of Laura McKibbon dishes.

Well, Laura has finally received her first bit of national recognition by having her name and a picture of her work printed in the JUNE 2006 edition of CANADIAN HOUSE & HOME (check out page 36). This little spotlight has already got her phone hopping and people all over the country want to know where they can get some of those awesome looking Laura McKibbon dishes!!!

Check out the magazine and be sure to Visit Laura's site HERE to see when her next show may pop up!

Congrats Laura!!!

And yes, in case you were wondering, that first pic is a picture of a Beadle Robot on a Dish. It's part of Laura's "Artist Series" featuring local artists like your pal, Beadle!!!!

PROPAGANDA

It was a beautiful day in the city yesterday and it was Team Photo Day. That's right, the employees of Propaganda Games went up to the roof of our Downtown Office for a team pic but I was smart enough to bring my camera as well. I got some random shots of the city and some of my co-workers as well as a few shots from the street. You check out the goodness HERE
