THE NERDY AUTUMN SUNSET

It's been a busy week! Work is busy for the both of us and Michelle has been fighting a steadily sinus-stuffing cold on the side. Today was an especially busy day for me as it was a big deadline and I was chained to the desk for most of it. Late this afternoon while I was working away at one of my 6,324 spreadsheets, a bright orange light hit the side of my face. At first I thought something wacky was going on with the monitor across from me so I turned to look and I saw this...

I stood and looked out the window, told some work mates about the awesome sunset and snapped some pics. Suddenly, the stress of the day was melting away and for a few brief moments, a calm over took my mind, body and soul. It wasn't a religious experience, no, it was a nerdy experience.

Why?

This sunset made me think of the opening scenes of FLASH GORDON when Ming the Merciless causes all those freak storms on Earth and all those cool clouds come rolling in. Yeah, that was pretty cool. Autumn moments like this deserve a nerdy movie break.

THE FALL

My camera class continues and things are going great. I am learning lots about settings, lighting, compostition and portraits... next up is night photography. In the meantime, this weekend saw some great autumn colors and one of my favorite meteorological events, fog. You can check out my pics HERE!!!

THE 100th POST

We've hit a milestone here at CorsiWorld... 100 Posts. And what a way to do it, ROB invited Todd and myself to the Hockey Game on Friday (it was the Home Opener which was cool but we lost to San Jose 6-4 which was not... cool), Michelle got a killer new HAIRCUT, we spent the weekend with Colin & Shannon (nephew & Neice) and our good friend Jason "Boom Boom" Boyce celebrated his birthday. Hope it was a great one!

A SWEET NIGHT INDEED

As the final part of Lorissa's birthday celebration (she likes to party weeks at a time), the Forbzez and Corsi Incorporated attended a great PORT & CHOCOLATE night in Stanley Park. There were four different local chocolatiers (my favorite being the Habanero & Mango Truffle from our friends at Cinnamon's) and about 12 different Ports/Wineries to choose from. After a while all the sugars were getting to me but the ladies had a blast... I had a blast taking snaps of the event and the beautiful Vancouver downtown at night. Solid evening all around!!!

QUIET WEEKEND

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!

It was a quiet weekend for Michelle and me as most of our friends and some family were out of town, so for a change we relaxed. There were a few events and observations worth mentioning though...

1) Happy Birthday CAPTAIN BOB!

2) If EARL'S insists on having five hostesses, be sure that at least one of them says "good night" or "how was dinner" or "bye" as you walk by all of them to get out of the restaurant?

3) Why does the GROUSE MOUNTAIN SKYRIDE cost $29.95 per person?

4) See THE DEPARTED. Scorsese's best work in years!

5) HAM is a fantastic Turkey substitute and Mussels with Leek, Sambucca & Chilis is a great appetizer (thanks Dad).

6) Try CINNAMON'S CHOCOLATES! You won't be disappointed.

7) Nothing makes you feel better than a walk on the SEAWALL or hiking though the FOREST.

8) NIP/TUCK is a weird show. Worth watching but weird.

Also, I'm in the midst of taking a Photography class at night with my buddy Chad. Learning all the in's and out's of the camera while using Manual Settings only. You can see my hits, misses, WIP's and homework HERE!

Anyway, talk soon!

MORE BIRTHDAYS

Well, it's the beginning of October and that means that there are more birthdays afoot. Big shout outs to two of our great friends, LORISSA and JEFF who are both part of the awesome Libra Club (hey, so am I)! Although Lorissa's actual birthday was yesterday, we partied last weekend with a great dinner and drinks festival downtown and then next week, the four of us (The Forbzez and Corsi Incorporated) will be attending the Port & Chocolate Night in Stanley Park to cap off the birthday festivities.

Port & Chocolate you say? Yes! Interested? Check it out HERE

Jeff and his unflappable alter-ego DOCTOR TIKI are a litte harder to pin down for a night out of birthday debauchery as Jeff is always on the go. But wherever he is, I raise my glass to him and wish him the happiest of birthdays. The first transport is away!

Happy Birthday to both of you, we love you lots and hope you both have a great year.
