L'IL SEBBERS
It's a tough day at Corsiworld as our cat Sebastion has been diagnosed with Diabetes.
A few weeks ago, Sebs started meowing more than usual, drinking more than usual and peeing more than usual. It never got any better so we brought him in to the vet to make sure things we okay... turns out they weren't. Sebastion has a pretty severe case of Diabetes and must now get daily insulin shots. Now that he has his medication, he seems a little happier although with the amount of tests and stress he has gone through over the last week, he has lost lots of weight... but it will get better.
We will all do our best to keep Sebastion happy and healthy and I am sure Pinchy will drive him crazy, Laverne will piss him off and soon Sebbers will need even more medication. Life is a vicious cycle...

Pain thy name is Kidney Stones
So I was feeling a little under the weather yesterday (cough, sore throat, runny nose) and I decided I was going to leave work around lunch. At 11:30 I got a sharp pain in my side, I wasn't sitting or standing in an odd position but I felt a really bad stitch in my side. I left work and as I was driving home, it got worse. By the time I got home, the pain was so bad that I couldn't sit, stand or lie down for more than a moment, it had taken over my left side, moved to my belly and the top of my legs. I called Michelle to come home and drive me to the doctor as I couldn't drive myself.
We tried to go to the Hospital but the line-up at Emergency was huge so we went to the local clinic instead. The receptionist could see I was in major pain (pale, cold sweats, constantly moving) so she got me in right away to see a doctor. After a few questions and a brief examination, she said I had kidney stones. I would need an ultrasound to verify but that was the diagnosis. Awesome. She prescribed me some painkillers (thank god) and off to the Ultrasound we went.
Sure enough, the ultrasound did indeed show stones in my system and now I got to spend 1-4 days passing them. That's right, 1-4 days of uncomfortable, sometimes searing pain, pain so bad sometimes, it makes you vomit. Pretty I know, but I have never felt pain like this before and the doctor said it's the closest a man can come to childbirth... fantastic.
Anyway, I'm at home right now, hopped up on "go pills" doing everything in my power to get these calcium-encrusted bastards through my system, let's hope it's sooner rather than later.

THE POLICE are coming!
One of my all-time favorite bands growing up was THE POLICE. Their last album was in 1983 and they vowed never to get back together. Well, looks like this vow has been broken as THE POLICE (original members Sting, Andy Summers & Stewart Copeland) have announced a reunion tour celebrating their 30th anniversary as a group. They are kicking off this giant World Tour right here in Vancouver and its guaranteed to be the hottest ticket in town... and I got two of them.
That's right, I managed to get my chubby little meathooks on two tickets for the show and we are going to love every single moment of it.
Michelle and I are going to THE POLICE baby! I'm so freekin' excited.

LOTS O' BIRTHDAYS
February is a busy birthday month and it's only 11 days in. ALISON and TORK both had their special day as did Andrea (see above). We went bowling (5 pin style) and ate like hockey-mad kings for Andrea's birthday, Tork DJ'ed for his and Alison has yet to celebrate hers but it's coming soon.
In the meantime, see pics of Andrea's Bowling Festival HERE

SAY HELLO TO LAVERNE!
The Corsi Family is about the get one more member... no we are not pregnant BUT we are getting a dog!
For the longest time, I've always wanted a Boston Terrier as I find their googly eyes, square heads and kooky personalities just mesmerizing. Michelle is also a dog lover, so we decided to bite the bullet and make one dream come true. Laverne is only one week old at this time and she will be coming home with us in about 8 weeks. We are excited, the cats? Not so excited but we are. We named it LAVERNE and we will be visiting every two weeks until she's ready to come home to Casa Del Corsi.
See the first pics of Laverne HERE and not to be outdone, you can see the continuing adventures of Pinchy & Sebastion HERE.

BNL ARE ME
Yesterday while I was driving around doing errands, Michelle called and surprised me with news that she just scored two tickets to the sold out BARENAKED LADIES concert Saturday night. Serious? Very! Good news indeed.
This would be my sixth BARENAKED LADIES concert and I'll keep seeing them again, why? Well, they're my favorite band and honestly I have my friend LESLEY to thank for that since she dragged me to a couple shows eons ago when no one else would go with her (they were lesser known back then... when I had hair). She's the bigger fan but Michelle and I are no slouches either. Since that introduction to the world of BNL, I've seen a concert of theirs for every album that's come out. This is our second BNL show together and it was awesome. Quite honestly, the best of the six shows I've seen them in.
Here's why! 1) They were uber-relaxed and having fun with each other and the crowd all night long. 2) There was the perfect mix of new songs and old classics. Pretty much one for one. 3) BNL is known for improv on stage and after every 2 or 3 songs they would start telling jokes or make up songs on the spot or sing cover versions of classic tracks (last night we were blessed with a version of Cameo's "Word Up"). 4) Two encores! Two! They had the crowd jumping!
All in all a great show and I highly recommend checking out a BNL concert if you have the chance, you won't be disappointed.

DINE OUT 2007
We'll we've wrapped up another culinary adventure as DINE OUT 2007 has come to an end for CorsiWorld. Like last year's ADVENTURE, we once again tried three different restaurants but this year we enjoyed all three rather than just one.
Our choices this year were SECTION (3), COAST and LA TERRAZZA.
All three were enjoyable in their own way: SECTION (3) is a casual yet funky joint with a medly of Asian/Mediterranean dishes, COAST is an upscale seafood house that also has some amazing meat choices and LA TERRAZZA is a great modern italian restaurant filled with robust flavors and a bible of wine.
At SECTION (3), I enjoyed the Scallop & Prawn Raviolis, Porkchop and Cheesecake while Michelle had the Caprese Salad, Salmon & Chocolate Platter. All in all it was tasty (especially the Porkchop) but the balsamic vinegar in the Caprese salad was burnt... boo.
THE SECTION (3) DINE OUT MENU
At COAST, which overall was our favorite, I enjoyed the Teaser Platter, Lamb Sirloin & the Peanut Butter Cup while Michelle had the Goat Cheese Salad, Lamb Sirloin & the Apple Tart. Great flavors, great drinks and great service. Overall, a great and tasty experience.
THE COAST DINE OUT MENU
At LA TERRAZZA, we both enjoyed the Strozzapreti Bolognese, the Lamb Sirloin and for dessert I had the Chocolate Terrine while Michelle had the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. Very enjoyable and honestly this place made the perfect spicy Caesar cocktail. So nice I had it twice.
THE LA TERRAZZA DINE OUT MENU
So there you have it, another successful DINE OUT experience. I look forward to next year already.
