It's real. It was the moment when he was going around the desk to shake hands with the moderator, but he went right when the moderator went left, then they both switched, realized they were doing the left/right dance--and so he paused and made a quick goofy face and pose "oh this is silly and awkward!" ...I saw it happen, but was amazed to see this photo the next day that he actually looked this extreme for one frame. We all look insane at moments when observed frame by frame, but wow.
