THE QUEEN OF THE NORTH/CORSI CONNECTION

Last week, BC Ferries suffered another blow to their already damaged image when their boat, THE QUEEN OF THE NORTH, sailed off course, hit a rock and sank to the bottom of Wright Sound in Northern BC. While investigations continue, I thought I would share a tidbit of info.

Michelle used to work on The Queen of the North, that's right, Mrs. Corsi herself. For two summers, Michelle used to give speeches about the wildlife, the environment and northern BC to boatloads of tourists who traveled on The Queen. Watching the news footage of last week's disaster was odd as she saw old work mates being interviewed and it brought those memories back. That and a 6:00am wake up call from Victoria stating "your boat sank"!

Will we ever know what really happened to the Queen of the North? Who knows but at least Michelle got to see her before she went 400 meters down to the bottom of the cold waters of BC.

    STRATA COUNCIL FUN

As a first time homeowner, I attended my first ever Strata Council meeting last night and boy was it fun (insert sarcastic tone here).

First off, I am suffering from a bout of food poisoning at the moment. Secondly, I was alone as Michelle was working the night shift. Thirdly, this is one of the most boring meetings I've ever been to and if you know my industry, you know I go to a lot of meetings. People love to complain I guess, love, love, love to complain. And about dumb things, most of which are in their control if they wanted to change things. But they don't, they would rather wait for a meeting, and complain in front of everyone forcing the meeting to go on forever.

I've heard that these types of meetings are boring and brutal and now that I have attended one, I can say with complete conviction... they were right.

    AQUA MADNESS

I'm sure a lot of you have been to the VANCOUVER AQUARIUM but have you ever been "behind-the-scenes"? Well, thanks to our good friends Jason & Saisha, a group of us got the chance to see what makes the Aquarium tick! Yes, it was a Saturday to remember as we walked around to see all the different birds, reptiles and fish and learned a little something too. The morning ended with a big group brunch at Milestones and marked it as a Saturday to remember...
