ADAM'S WEEKEND

My buddy Adam, who now lives in Chicago, came home for the weekend to celebrate two big milestones. First off, he turned 30 and second, he got engaged! Yes, the Booyaka Boyes is engaged to his longtime, lovely girlfriend Jen.

Adam & Jen along with five other Americans flew up to Vancouver for two great booze-filled nights in Whistler (along with 15 of Adam's Canadian pals) and it was all topped off with a 75 person BBQ dinner at Adam's parents place in Abbotsford on Sunday Night (Ribs yuh!!!).

A great time was had by all, we are extremely happy for Adam & Jen and it was great to finally meet some of Adam's Chicago Crew (Raftmaster, Shrimpface & Sleepy)!

It's always good to laugh with the Block-Rockin' Boyes.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY GONG SHOW!!!

Some call him Lalouche... others call him Fishnor... I call him Best Friend (also known as "Hey Guy").

Today is Jason Delong's birthday and I hope he has a great one! We haven't seen each other as much as we used to like when we were drunk roomies living downtown, now we are both married and living on opposite sides of the city! But thanks to modern technology like the internet, MSN and cell phones, my buddy ain't too far away.

Happy Birthday man! Enjoy the "Cheese of the Month Membership" I signed you up for!

    WHIRLWIND WEEKEND

Yes it's Mother's Day Weekend but it's been busy above all that as well. My buddy Sean was in town for a visit and for the opening of his mom's new store! The Forbzez got a brand new Ducati Bike so now they both can ride in style! And to top it all off, the weather was so nice, we spent oodles of time outside, all the while I was snapping pics, getting more comfortable with the camera. Take a look at the two sets below...

    PHOTO CLUB

There's a lot of budding photographers at Propaganda Games, so it's a great place to learn about all the bells & whistles of my new Camera. In fact, every few lunch breaks, some guys get together and walk around downtown, snapping pics and having some photo fun. So on this particular lunch hour, I hooked up with Goosh & Frank and this is what I got...

    BUSY WEEKEND

Yes it was a busy weekend! Not only did we get tattoos (see previous post) but we also celebrated Michelle’s birthday with friends at a big dinner, attended a local art show called Shiny Fuzzy Muddy and saw Mission: Impossible: 3.

Take a look at some photos from the birthday dinner and Shiny Fuzzy Muddy below, for the M:I:3 review, follow the hyperlink to GioChannel!

I (mich) must interject here, for those just tuning in Shiny Fuzzy Muddy is a super great collaboration of a few talented local artists that happens 2 times a year. This was the spring event at Mooncruise gallery in gastown, a super trendy, gallery full of awesome furniture, jewlery and clothes set in a heritage building with huge windows and a spiral staircase to the showroom. That in itself was inspiring but when you get to combine that with the uber hip creations of Francis Felt, Donna Partridge, Astrosachel, among others you cant help but wish you had won the lottery so you could spend away.

It was particulary extra great for me as my very talented cousin Laura McKibbon, who's pottery, Cul de Sac Designs, is totally original and the only stuff we use, gave me a gift certificate for my newest favorite local talent Arleigh Wood. The problem now is trying to decide which peice to put it towards. Her pieces are all so fabulous I stood there, most of the pics of me on the site, for about 20 minutes trying to decide and came away deciding to mull it over and check out the show next weekend. Check out the pics on:
