DISNEYLAND: A SUCCESS!!!

Wow! Six action packed days and nights have come and gone faster than possible. 3 Days at Disneyland, 1 day at California Adventure Park, 1 day at Universal Studios and 1 day in L.A. I think we are more tired now than when we left.

As you can tell from my previous posts, my main goal was to overcome my fear of rollercoasters, which I did. I rode 4 different ones and liked them all, even did ones that went backwards and upside down. May not seem like much to you but for me, it's a big win!!!

Okay, the trip. Everyday was sunny and hot. Disneyland is cool, even at 33 years old, it's cool and it makes me wish I went there as a kid alas, now we are big kids so it's still good. California Adventure Park is a lot smaller but still loads of fun, the rides are great and it's not as busy as Disneyland proper so you can move around faster. Universal Studios was enjoyable but it's more about shows than rides so it's not as engaging but the Studio Tour is awesome (especially if you've never done it before). L.A. is L.A., big, ugly and smoggy but we saw some cool shopping areas (Sunset, Rodeo, Beverly Hills etc.) and we got to see our good friend Jeff Macpherson which is always a treat.

Favorite Rides: California Screamin' (California), Jurassic Park (Universal), Space Mountain (Disneyland), Tower of Terror (California), Splash Mountain (Disneyland) and Indiana Jones (Disneyland).

Well, enough of the Blah, Blah... check out the PICS!

Forget fear... LOVE the Roller Coaster!

I've embraced the Roller Coaster and have come to love it. I've done SPACE MOUNTAIN three times, the MATTERHORN twice and CALIFORNIA SCREAMIN twice... I love it and there is more to come! Eyes are open too!

Chad took some awesome pics as well, check them out HERE!

Then as promised, here are the pics of Sofia Maria, my cousin Ida's new daughter. She's tiny but a cutey! See the goodness HERE!

I HATE THE DENTIST

I awoke with a dull throbbing in my mouth this morning, why? Well, yesterday I went to the Dentist. For the last while I've had a mild pain in my lower left jaw so I finally drummed up the courage to visit the dentist. Now, you may not know this but I hate and fear the dentist almost as much as I hate and fear spiders. In fact, if I walked into a room and met a spider that worked as a dentist I'd probably burst into flames right there.

Luckily my Dentist and his staff are pretty top notch but that doesn't stop me from freakin' out.

Anyway, after an inspection and some x-rays, the Dentist tells me that I have a bad infection and I need a root canal... fun. He shoots me twice with that massive horse needle (one of the worst parts of going to the Dentist), sets me up and prepares to operate. As soon as the drill his my tooth, I scream and my limbs start flailing... not enough freezing. He gives me another shot and tries again. More pain, I can still feel everything.

On a side note, it has been brought to my attention that I have additional "nerve clusters" in my jaw so where a reguar joe needs one shot to freeze up, I usually need five. Fun eh? Especially for someone that doesn't like shots or the dentist to begin with?!?!? That's right, my mutant power is that I have too much feeling in my jaw... I'm gonna be in the next X-Men movie.

So now I have three shots worth of freezing in me and the Dentist says that I am too infected to operate on so I need to see a "specialist" but first I have to go on medication to get the infection dealt with. The specialist will deal with this root canal, then I have to see another specialist to take out my wisdom teeth, then I come back to my dentist to get a crown on my recently rooted tooth. All this for a mild pain in my jaw???? Crap... maybe I should just get a sharp punch in the face, knock some teeth out and deal with it all in one swoop.

Anyway, there you have it, this little painful adventure to the dentist will probably end up costing me a pretty penny even with my coverage cause you know for damn sure that I am going to be knocked out cold for any and all surgeries. Screw extra cost, screw extra risk... knock me out baby cause I hate the Dentist.

There's a new CORSI around...

As you may or may not know, my little cousin Ida and her husband Albert were expecting a child this summer. Well, yesterday it happened. A new baby girl was introduced to the Corsi family. Details are sketchy (don't know the name or the weight yet) but I will get that info out soon and hopefully a pic or two as well. But mom and baby are doing well and the whole family is abuzz with glee. The first of a new generation of Corsi's (or Aiello's in this case) has arrived! Congrats Ida & Albert!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LESLEY!!!

Yesterday was Lesley's Birthday and in true Lesley tradition, we celebrated by attending a SPIRIT OF THE WEST concert in West Van. The cool part was that is was free and outdoors. Now I am not the biggest SotW fan but if that's what the Birthday Girl wants, that's what the Birthday Girl gets. While Les sat near the front with her family, most of us were in the back running around like camera-crazy idiots. Overall, it was a good show and a good time and you can check out some pics HERE

The 3rd Annual Pentiction Wine Weekend

Once again, our friend Chris Freek and his fantastic parents, Ted & Lena, opened up their Penticton home to eleven wine-hungry folks for a great weekend of tours, talking and you-guessed-it, drinking wine. It was an incredible time and I think that we (the Corsi's) went a little nuts this year as we came home with almost three cases filled with Vino. We found some incredible new Wineries this year like FORBIDDEN FRUIT, STAG'S HOLLOW and THERAPY as well as revisiting old favorites like BLASTED CHURCH, ELEPHANT ISLAND and LE FRENZ.

I think the biggest disappointment for us this year was BURROWING OWL. Last year, we bought three bottles. This year, we bought none. I think we will survive with the 25+ other bottle of wine we got though...

Here's some stats:

14 Wineries
11 Friends
4 Days
3 Cases
2 Hangovers
1 Great Weekend

Can't wait for next year but until then, take a look at THESE!!!

ENGAGE!!!

Our friends Jason & Saisha have taken the big step and gotten themselves ENGAGED! (cue music) After a whirlwind three years of relationship they have taken themselves to the next level and gained themselves a hundred points by beating the boss at the end with a roundhouse kick. All kidding aside, a big hearty congratulations to Jason and Saisha, we wish them all the best and if we can offer some words: "it's gonna be a hell of a ride".
